Dear Friends,

As I celebrate my 53rd year in dentistry, 34 of which have been here in Wilmington, I wish to thank all of you for the privilege of being your dentist. Your trust and confidence in me and my team in providing for your oral heath care has been both professionally and personally rewarding. The relationships that have grown over the years with so many of you have been a big part of my life and are indelibly printed in my heart and soul. After much deliberation and three years of uncertain hesitation, it’s time to transition to the next chapter of my life.

My decision to retire is made much easier knowing that you, my patients, will be left in competent and caring hands. Many of you have already met my son, Dr. James Salling, whose been with the practice now for 15 years and Dr. Bryan Tate, my trusted partner of 23 years. They have been co-owners of the practice for eight years now, and both gentlemen are exceptional dentists who would be honored to continue the caring dentistry that each of you have come to expect.

Dr. Tate, Dr. Jamie and I have also searched far and wide to add a 3rd dentist to the practice, one that we all feel will continue to provide you with the same philosophy of excellent care, and we welcomed Dr. Katlin Jameson in July 2021. I am confident in these three dentists, and they all look forward to being of service to you.

Our wonderful dental team will continue with the same personal and professional relationships we’ve all worked hard to establish.

The only person leaving other than myself is Tammy, my Dental Assistant for 34 years. She has accepted a better offer…. from her family, to be a full-time Grandmother (Mami) to her now four grandchildren. I, (Bop Bop), look forward to spending more time with my family and nine grandchildren.

Amy, our Practice Manager, and Dorothy, my Administrative Assistant, look forward to answering any questions and helping you transition to one of our other dentists.

Again, thank you all for your confidence in me and my team, and for sharing in my journey. I look forward to continuing to see you in the neighborhood and community and wish you all the very best.

An Exceptional Practice

From the front desk to the checkout, the staff in this office is extremely friendly. I first met with Tara, She made this dental coward very comfortable and explained everything that she was doing from X-rays to the preliminary exam prior to my actual meeting with Dr. Jamie Salling. He took his time with me and explained in detail the work that needs to be done and how we need to proceed. This is an exceptional practice!

Nicest Group of Professionals

I lost a front tooth (crown) on vacation. They were kind, empathetic, professional, and efficient. There are not enough adjectives to describe the whole office, from check-in to check-out. Dr. Jameson and her assistant Katelin were the absolute best and wanted me to be comfortable finishing out my vacation. This office needs to offer training on how all dental offices should run!

Wonderfully Friendly Staff

You are greeted with a wonderful staff. Not fake acting, but actually nice, friendly staff. Dr. Tate is always very helpful and listens to what’s going on. He helps guide you to the right decisions. If there was a sixth star I’d give that!

Excellent Experience

I’m new to the area and received a referral from a new neighbor. I was planning on setting up a routine visit when I lost a filling and had to expedite an appointment. The office got me in quickly, and I am completely pleased with my experience with Dr. Jameson. I then followed up with a routine cleaning appointment, and Heidi was excellent. I have found my dentist!

My Favorite Dental Office!

Your entire experience will be great. From first being greeted by the incredibly kind front office staff to talking with the gentle and thorough hygienists about your concerns/questions, you will feel at ease. I feel the dentists take a more conservative approach, which I appreciate (because of my anxiety at the dentist). I’ve seen many dentists around the country, and this is my favorite office.

Careful and Caring

New to Wilmington, and was very nervous for my first dental appointment. However, Heidi is a great hygienist, careful and caring. And Dr. Tate! Well, you had me at the architecture of the mouth and the golden ratio. I’m in.

Dr. Jameson was great! She truly made it easy and painless! She walked me through the process of her findings and next steps to take. She was very clear and made it very easy for me to understand! She even reached out to me a few hours after my appointment to make sure I was doing okay! 5 STARS!

Highly Recommend!

Dr. Jamie Salling and his staff are absolutely wonderful! The work that is performed stands the test of time. If you are considering switching dentists, or you are looking for a new one, I highly recommend his office. There’s a big difference between a dentist and a GREAT dentist, that’s why I choose Salling & Tate!

Kind and Thorough

I had a wonderful experience at my appointment. The hygienist and dentist were both kind, thorough, and provided the exact amount of care I wanted. They did not push extra services on me but were knowledgeable and wanted to establish an effective care plan. They came highly recommended by a friend, and I now see what the hype is about. Wonderful dentistry.

Took Care of My 8-Year-Old

We are from out of town. My eight-year-old daughter broke her two front teeth while we were here visiting. Dr. Jamie saw us the very next day. He did such a good job and Managed all of our anxiety so well, that spending the afternoon at his office was actually better than the afternoon on the beach we had been planning! Highly recommend.

Best Dental Atmosphere!

Friendly and professional atmosphere. I didn’t have to wait long to be seen, and the location is convenient with adequate parking and easy to find. Best dental atmosphere I have had since I moved to Wilmington!

I Won't Go Anywhere Else!

I’ve been with Salling & Tate for a few years now, and they take such great care of their patients! They’re friendly, thorough, and they go above and beyond. I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else for my dental needs. I’ve worked with Dr. Tate in the past and now Dr. Jameson, and I felt in great hands with both!
